American Imperialism had a huge impact on the way America grew into what it is today. Imperialism has been happening since the Spanish - American war until today. Whether it was Vietnam, World War II, or The Cold War, America is always trying to improve and enlarge its military and economic powers. One bizarre way the United States pushed American imperialism was the 1904 Missouri World’s Fair, a 47-acre area loaded with nothing but scientific inventions, fun attractions and ways to improve as humans. One of The World Fair’s main attractions was the Philippine Reservations which also helped justify American imperialism. The Americans took the Philippians from their homes and brought them here to stay in mock villages showcasing as an exhibit. American scientist’s studied how these people lived. They would do experiments and tests on the villagers to see how their brains and bodies worked after living in their conditions. These studies influenced the idea of “Darwinism”.
