Tobacco Free Campus Policy Essay

The tobacco free campus policy is a policy that I don’t like in ASU. This arrangement of it has been successful since August the first 2013 by precluding the use of a wide range of tobacco. After doing some examination on the Internet, I have discovered some data in regards to this strategy that ASU is getting to be a piece of. One division or association did not build up the policy of free smoking grounds. Truly, The tobacco free campus policy is a united exertion of ASU organization, staff, understudy, and faculty. Basically, everyone in ASU organizations is in charge of this policy, and if I am going to make change in that policy I need to talk to ASU’s dean about this concern The reasons ASU is being part of this policy is due to surveys indicating that students want their learning facilities to be free of smoking. Also students with asthma have a strong problem when they expose to second hand smoking, which means that such an exposure can worsen their illness to the point of requiring an emergency room. ASU want their student to learn in a clean atmosphere trying to be an environmentally friendly college. …show more content…

Personally, I believe that ASU is doing all of that not because of the second hand smoking but because they want to save money out of facilities and maintenance, and diminish the danger of fires on campus. Tobacco use on campus consumes profitable staff time getting cigarette butts, cleaning ashtrays, and building designated smoking areas around the campuses is considered a waste of money. ASU also believe that foolish smokers begin fires by dropping cigarettes in planting ranges and waste containers. Going completely tobacco free campus does not just move the issue, it actually eliminates it and it eliminated smokers’ rights to smoke
