Cigarettes alone kill at least 480,000 Americans every year .Although 480,000 will die, many more will continue their lives, although they will do so suffering from the cancers, gum disease, blood clots, and many other ailments that come along with the use of tobacco products. Not only will you affect you life but, maybe even other lives around you from things like secondhand smoke. Tobacco use should be outlawed across the United States. Cigarette smoking kills nearly half a million American every year. This number only includes cigarettes and does not include other forms of tobacco such as chewing tobacco, smoking pipes, or cigars.This number may seem so large because it accounts for one out of every five deaths in America. In the U.S fifteen out of every hundred Americans aged eighteen to twentyfive smoked cigarettes. Once a smoker starts smoking it is near impossible for them to stop. Tobacco products contain a drug called nicotine. The more a person takes nicotine, the more the person craves nicotine. They start to require nicotine to feel normal, and without it they become irritable and are subjected to mood swings. Smoking increases the speed at which women lose bone marrow, leading to osteoporosis later in their lives.Smoking can also lead to emphysema, a condition in which there is no cure.The disease destroys the inside of a person's lung making it very difficult to breathe. This increase in difficulty leads to extreme fatigue. Smoking can lead to many incurable and often deadly diseases and
