I am writing to you today to state my reasons for why the trial verdict was wrong. I felt that Mr.Tom Robinson shouldn’t have been found guilty for something he didn’t do. He had a very good lawyer named Atticus Finch, and all though Atticus was a white man he didn’t discriminate against blacks. They were having the trial in the Maycomb County Courthouse that had all white men juries, and sectioned off Blacks from Whites. The prosecutor was Mayella Ewell and the defendant was Tom Robinson, and Mayella Ewell accused Tom Robinson of raping her. So, I am going to tell you three main reasons why Tom was innocent, and how I felt about all of the discrepancies in the trial. So he helped her do her chores for free, but to Mr.Gilmer that seemed suspicious. Honestly, Tom Robinson was really the only one who was nice to her, because he helped her and talked to her. So, why she is trying to put him in jail is simple, because he is black and it would be easy to put him away. I felt the only reason Mayella Ewell took Tom Robinson to court was to please her father, since he caught her kissing a black
