Rhetorical Analysis—On Top of the World The song On Top of the World was written and sung by Imagine Dragons. Imagine Dragons is an American rock band from Las Vegas debuted in 2008. This song is released in 2013 and had been played for on the soundtrack of EA’s FIFA, a soccer game, and in other medias. The purpose of the song is to express how people goes through the hard and tough times in life and to encourage the audience to never give up. The target audience of this song is everyone since the song reflects problems in culture and encouraging people to be strong when they are having a hard time in life. The song is used for the EA’s FIFA as the background soundtrack because of the positive attitude from the lyrics. It is extremely important to have a positive attitude towards ourselves, people around us and things that we deal with in life. They are trying to express that everyone knows and it is easy to give up something that they have been working on. But they had also explained that, “Then again I couldn’t have ’cause. I’ve traveled all this way for something.” This sentence is to emphasize that you will never be success if you do not have a positive attitude towards a task. You should try your very best to finish it because you may have underestimated your ability when you started to get frustrated and have the idea to give up.
