It is absurd to give anyone under the age of twenty a gun. Twenty is the best age because you are more mature than. Twenty may not even be a the best age, because you are allowed to start drinking at twenty one and drinking and guns are not a good mix. You need to wait until you are sure that you are mature enough.
All legally owned guns are known about, and must have a permit to own. Even if someone gives you a gun you have to have a licence to acquire it. You also legally can’t loan someone a gun without a contract, and the person you’re loaning a gun to must have a permit to handle that type of gun (“Questions and Answers”). The United Stated does not require you to have a permit to borrow someone else’s gun. You also don’t need to have a specific permit to acquire a gun from a friend or family member.
Australians must have a firearm license for each weapon and for themselves. Every weapon must be registered with a serial number and the owner must have a purpose for owning said firearm. Firearm owners must pay high taxes on each firearm and they must be stored in a locked container with the ammunition locked up in a separate container. Australia had numerous mass shootings in the late 1900’s. They quickly adopted gun laws and issued gun amnesties three times, retrieving almost 68,000 handguns in total (“Gun Control”).
If they did not the penalty of still owning a firearm would be 10 years of imprisonment. Even an honorable citizen that came into the possession of a firearm,even by accident would receive the harsh punishment. Australia made laws banning all semi automatic rifles and pumping action shotguns. They even made a more stronger restrictive licensing system on other firearms. Also, Australia even launched a system where they would buy back firearms to remove a huge amount from private hands.
Lastly, Josef Mengele did not give most of the prisoners he experimented on anesthesia. The fact that he didn’t use anesthesia makes everything that he did already ten times worse. The awful thing is that real human beings had to experience these excruciating experiments even when they did nothing to harm Dr. Mengele. This quote is from a woman who was held at Auschwitz during the Holocaust, “ I was used as a guinea pig for medical experiments. I was never ever given painkillers or anesthetics.”
Should There Be Tighter Gun Restrictions in America ? On the twentieth of December, 2012 twenty-six people were shot dead and only two others injured. The gruesome attack occurred in the morning at sandy hook elementary school in Connecticut the perpetrator Adam Lanzo begin this horrific attack by shooting his mother at 9:30am he then took his mother’s rifle and drove to the nearby elementary school where he then began to open fire on first grade students aged just six to seven and shooting any staff members that got in his way. This resulted in the deaths of twenty children and the deaths of six teachers.
It’s easier to get a gun in the United States than it is to get a driver’s license. In order to get your driver’s license (in Illinois at least) you must pass a written and vision test, and those are just to get a permit. After an additional 6-9 months you are eligible to take a road test which you must pass in order to get your license. According to CNN “You don 't need a knowledge or proficiency test. You usually don 't need a license or permit to buy a gun, unless you live in one of 13 states (and D.C.) that force you to get one.
States like Texas allows you to carry any types of guns with no licenses or permit and in California, you need a license and a permit to bear arms. Regardless of the different rules that each state has about the second amendment you are allowed to protect yourself in your house or in public. In the wake of the recent string of mass shootings, the issues of gun control and gun rights have continued to be a national prominence. The nationwide availability of these guns creates a major problem regarding who buy them, from general gun stores, to gun shows / conventions, to even Walmart, getting ahold of a gun is still pretty easy in this year. Everyone here would probably be thinking that guns are more difficult to purchase then cars right? In fact, it’s the exact opposite. To get a car, you must first get a license, get car insurance, buy the actual car, get all the paperwork done, and finally register the car. Without including the training to get a license, this procedure can take over a month.
