A recent trend in the United States Justice System, at local and state levels, is to implement the use of formulas and algorithms to determine sentencing length. In her article “Sentencing, by the Numbers”, University of Michigan law professor Sonja Starr focuses on this trend, and shows flaws that she finds in the system. In the article, she agrees with the actions of Attorney General Eric Holder in criticizing the system for the way in which it determines the risk of future crimes. Offender profiling is used by focusing on all the aspects of the crime. They investigate the nature of the crime, the scene and how the crime was committed. The goal of this type of profiling is to provide investigators with an idea of the personality of the suspect. This method of profiling has in part been effective. By suing this type of profiling methods, investigators were able to arrest the responsible for the individual that terrorized New York from 1940 to 1956, The Mad Bomber.
Slavery, Jim Crow, the ghetto, and the carceral apparatus are all structural institutions that share a mutual beneficial relationship where each has supplemented and historically progressed into more advanced subtle forms of oppression and racism. Past and current regimes served as social functions with the objective of encompassing African Americans in a permanent subordinate position. In each generation, newer developments of a racial caste emerge with the same objective of repudiating African Americans citizenship. The only thing that has changed since Jim Crow is the language we use to justify racial exclusion (Alexander, 2). These four regimes are genealogically linked because they all advanced and developed from one another.
As of 2015, AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety stated, “Aggressive behavior accounts for more than half of all fatal vehicle crashes with in the United States” (AAA). This problem is a major one that needs to be taken care of. In 2013, the New Jersey State Police reported that “the state had received the fewest fatal car accidents in over 60 years” (NJSP). This is due to a higher police presence and stricter laws prohibiting aggressive driving. The major dangers of speeding include the environmental aspect, driving too fast for road conditions, and speeding kills. Driving responsibly is our duty as citizens. We must be defensive in our driving habits. Defensive driving is driving to save lives, time and money, in spite of the conditions around you and the actions of others. Also, defensive driving is the responsibility of everyone who operates a vehicle in our roadway community.
In order to be able to understand the reason why violence is highly used in prison gangs we most know the history behind their organization. For example, the NF originated in Soledad prison in California in the mid 1960s. They were formed because they were tired of being the victim of abuse from the EME so they branched off and made their own organization. The NF members that started the prison gang were once Mexican Mafia members. The EME would prey upon those who weren't part of them.

She mentioned during lecture that at first she thought it was a prank but after a while everything just rushed to her and she realized it was an emergency situtation.
Often is the case where these problems turn out to be fatal. So the clear answer to solving these issues is to remove the human element, without humans roads would be a safer place. At least that is the concept behind driver-less or self-driving cars. Google is one of the companies leading the charge against this problem.

Such as hitting a car,running off the road,or pulling over and doing physical contact can cause these rags to happen. Some people get weapons out when they are very aggressive.
The higher the speed limit, the more likely the crash will be severe. There happens to be proven research that shows that speed has little effect on how fast people drive. “ People are capable of finding a good speed without the following the speed limit signs” (Boyles). Sometimes the driver gets distracted and loses his or her focus on the road. Speeding and being distracted, even by the smallest things, can cause an accident or even life threatening injures.
An end to drunk driving When driving a vehicle, thinking about the effects it will have on others might be the last thing on a person 's mind. Getting into an accident can be horrific, especially if the cause is drunk driving. Drunk drivers put lives at risk, as they can swerve uncontrollably and crash into innocent bystanders or other drivers. Automobile accidents occur daily, whether it is from a distracted driver, drunk driver or a sudden crash. However, drunk driving accidents and deaths related to them are totally preventable.
