It focuses on how we view ourselves and others. An example from Pleasantville would be the use of the words, “swell”, “gee wiz”, and “keenest”. In the movie the townspeople would communicate with each other using these words and other similar ones. Today the word “keenest” would refer to someone complimenting a person or thing. “That is the keenest dress I have ever seen”, in this sentence “keenest” could be replaced with “prettiest”.

The novel Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel is surrounded by food, and everything in the novel is connected by Tita and the meals she cooks. Each chapter begins with the recipe for a dish Tita cooks later in the chapter. Food and the preparation of said food in the novel is the only constant present. Throughout the novel Tita’s mother, Mama Elena, is repeatedly forward and upfront with her hatred for Tita.

Like Water for Chocolate The theme of magical realism is manifested in the Laura Esquivel’s novel Like Water for Chocolate. Elements of magical realism are reflected mainly through Tita’s food recipes, as the food takes on supernatural qualities. The effects that they have on the characters in Esquivel’s book may seem far-fetched and yet it fits in with the nature of her book where impossible lactations, ghosts, the salt producing tears and so much more. These elements are cathartic releases for the characters. There are many instances in Like Water for Chocolate where Laura Esquivel uses magic realism.
Tea Cake’s playfulness, adventure, happiness, protection, respect and his artistic aspect brought back the vision of the peer tree and constituted a time-based definition of what natural marriage means. It seemed perfect to Janie. Tea Cake treated Janie as a grown up woman with a young soul and a perfect beauty while acknowledging her freedom to choose. Freedom to stay or to leave by constantly reminding her that she has the keys to the kingdom (Hurston, 121). Tea Cake was the source of happiness for Janie and the closest image to the peer tree, she learned to give, serve and be served with him.

In the movie, Hugo is on a quest for survival. Through this he learns valuable life lessons. Volger’s archetypes, the historical aspects of the narratives in the film, and actor portrayls all serve as a reflection of Hugo’s heroism.

Through the use of imagery, Yasunari Kawabata creates a still, quiet, and serene atmosphere in his short story ¨Girl Who Approached the Fire.¨ The story starts with the description of a lake: ¨The water of the lake glittered in the distance. It was the color of a stagnant spring in an old garden on a moonlit evening¨ (para. 1). The description of the lake compares its color to that of a static time unaffected by the world. Kawabata´s diction in the second sentence engenders the image of stillness in a uneventful area. The word ¨stagnant¨ leads to the thought of stillness.
But it is not only the race and the colour of their skin what makes them unable to change their situation, but also poverty. Race and wealth are intertwined, and Pecola is the fundamental victim of this relationship, for she is a young black girl suffering from this ideology that determines her life. The dominant class imposes its values upon the other, for they think they are the best ones, reducing thus the personality of the people belonging to other classes, and at the same time, making them unable to change their oppressed situation, for they do not have the chance. They just accept their current position, and thus they will always be

Introduction Organizational Behavior is the field of study which investigates the impact that individuals, group and structures have on behavior within the organization. We are born in an organization, we live, we work and most probably we will die in an organization. Yet most of us do not understand how people function, behave and interact between each other within these organizations. We also do not understand if people shape an organization or an organization shapes people. Different people work differently in different situations.
In our society today, every individual’s ideas can be exchanged in various creative forms. The short film medium, being a form of social commentary, is a pertinent driving force behind shifts in personal values. Thus short films as a textual form have great value and impact to society due to their versatile delivery.
