Leadership, coalitions, social networks, and pilot change are four key factors in the effective change process. In order for change to be successful there needs to be one or more people taking leadership roles. Transformational leadership and change is about creating a shared vision that is with a future and communicating it in ways that are meaningful to others (270). With that being said consistency in decisions to the vision and encouraging employees to experiment in ways to position their work to that vision are essential in the transitional leadership process. Creating a strategic vision that provides a sense of direction that establishes the critical success factors against the real changes are evaluated. A vision provides an emotional foundation for the change itself because it links to the individual's values and self concept to the desired change. Even though communication and influence are a huge role in social networks they are not easily controlled. Viral change uses word of mouth and viral marketing. Both marketing techniques occur when information seeded to a few people is transmitted to others through relationship connections such as friends, family, or significant other.
