Trench warfare is a type of combat that opposes troops fight from trenches facing each other. The most famous use of trench warfare is Western Front in World War I. It has became a byword.Trench warfare happened when a revolution in firepower was not matched by same advances in the ability to move.On the Western Front in 1914–18, both sides constructed trench and dugout systems opposing each other along a front, protected from assault by barbed wire, mines, and other obstacles that you couldn’t get thru.The area between opposing trench lines (known as "no man's land") was fully exposed to artillery(which is a large gun) fire from both sides. In my opinion if you want someone to fight for you,you should at least make them feel comfortable that's just wrong in my opinion.Trenches also had a run down, the trenches were infested with rats !! Which made everyone itch horribly.Rainfall flooded the entire trenches making them muddy,hard to get threw and even stopped up the guns which mean they couldn’t shoot,and made it even harder to move.That caused the soldiers to get an infection called trench foot. World War I has been called unnecessary because the original problem that triggered the conflict was short, yet it triggered. During World War 1 opposing armies conducted a battle near each other with a number of ditches dug into the ground. Warfare became necessary when two armies face a draw, with neither side able to advance and take over the other. Trenches made armies rearrange moving strategies such as head on attacks and turned a short strategy into i the main feature of war. This made it difficult for either army to advance their next position, and made some attack ineffective. They used heavy artillery,repair or add barbed wire to their front lines and machine guns.
