Ian Lofdahl Professor Taylor English 101 6th December 2014 Proposal Essay Proposition for Turf Field Introduction: Turf is an increasing alternate route for field surfaces. Turf was invented in 1965. A brief summary of why it came to be was The Houston Astros a MLB team, created their stadium called the Astrodome, the world's first domed stadium. The field of the Astrodome was originally covered in natural grass, in order for grass to grow and remain favorable, sun light was needed. Therefore, the Astrodome was built with a transparent roof to let the sun shine in. Other research done by the NFL found that twenty-one of the thirty-two teams preferred turf after overall team surveys (NFL Players Rank Field Turf as Best Artificial Surface). Athletes prefer turf over natural surfaces. Allowing their mindset to be on just the game enhancing their skill’s when playing on turf. I can guarantee that this project will be a successful investment in many different ways. An educated and trustworthy booster club will foresee over the entire project. Publicity and incentives that the turf includes will motivate the community to support the project. Money will fluctuate throughout the local community when hosting events. Local companies and organizations are able to advertise themselves. Athletes will play on a beautiful and desirable surface. In effect they will be able to focus on the game at hand rather than poor field conditions allowing them to demonstrate their skills. Fans will love that for that is what they have paid and supported
