Think, is there ever a point in life of true happiness?How could true enlightenment be reached?If there was a point of enlightenment should it be reached?In the story Siddhartha,written by Herman Hesse,Siddhartha goes on a pilgrimage to find spiritual enlightenment.Siddhartha believes if he finds enlightenment he will also find true happiness and will go to any length to find it.Siddhartha begins by learning one of the three most important skills he will attain, waiting,and gets the all right from his father to start his pilgrimage.Siddhartha starts his true journey when he questions the Buddha and believes he does not have helpful teachings for Siddhartha.Siddhartha learns that the only way to find enlightenment is putting himself through …show more content…

Siddhartha is not only “reborn” but, reunited with his old friend.This is where Siddhartha has just started on the path of true enlightenment. Siddhartha is now again on the path of finding enlightenment and tells Govinda “It is the same with me as it is with you ,my old friend.I am not going anywhere.I am only on the way.I am making a pilgrimage.”Govinda questions his pilgrimage and leaves with a bow.Sidhartha then is reminded of his three teachings: fasting,waiting,and thinking.Siddhartha then crosses the same river he crossed to before to begin a new life and meets the same mysterious ferryman.The ferryman is humble and welcomes Siddhartha into his hut to live in.Siddhartha begins to learn from the ferryman and see how he is happy. After sometime Kamala decides it's time to make a pilgrimage with the son born from Siddhartha to see the dying Buddha but, gets bitten by a snake.The ferryman hears her cries and is fast to take her to the hut although she is already too far gone,she tells Siddhartha she will find true happiness and passes away in front of him.C..Siddhartha also loses Kamala and is with his Son for the first
