Truman Capote wrote a lot of stories about his childhood and experiences and he won some awards afterwards. Capote’s childhood was spent with Harper lee author of To Kill A Mockingbird and they worked on stories together. Capote wanted to write an all factual true book eventually called In Cold Blood. Even though all his other stories were short stories based off his life experiences. Due to Truman's neglectful and insane childhood characters in his short stories and novels reflect human nature.

While living in Monroeville Truman met Harper Lee they were both complete opposites. “Capote was a sensitive boy who was picked on by other kids for being a wimp, while Lee was a rough and tumble tomboy.”(Biography) Even though Capote was sensitive and Lee is a tomboy Lee still liked Capote for his creative and inventive ways. He had a nightmarish homelife often feeling abandoned by his parents. His parents ended up getting a divorce and only got the attention of his parents because his mom and dad wanted to hurt each other by getting custody. Mom got custody. Truman, his mom and stepdad Joe Capote moved to New york.
