Newspapers where a big part of the Truman Show. They gave hidden messages that we were suppose to figure out. In this paragraph, I will be explaining all of the newspaper headlines. The first one being,”The Best Place on Earth.” Truman lives on an Island in a dome called Seahaven, and it’s surrounded by water. “Nothing you see on the show is fake, it’s nearly controlled.” This quote relates to the newspaper article because nothing goes wrong in the world Truman’s living in. Everything goes his way. Christoff has been controlling what goes on in his life. Another newspaper article is,”Who Needs Europe.” This means that since he’s leaving in a world where everything goes his way, who needs another place. Sea, which the whole place is surrounded in water, and haven. Haven sounds like Heaven. In Heaven, everything is perfect, just like Seahaven. Another thing that helps you understand the film is Truman. “Everything you see is not fake, just nearly controlled.” This means that everything is true, but true in the wrong way, controlled way. The third thing that helps you understand the film is Burbank. It’s a place in Hollywood. Where everyone is fake, just like in Seahaven. The fourth thing that makes you understand the film a bit better is Christof. He controls everything and everyone in Seahaven. What to do, what to say, and other things. The fifth thing that helps you understand the film is Santa Maria. This means Holy Mary, or Saint Mary. This is the boat that Truman got onto to escape Seahaven. The camera angles are weird in this movie. I'm surprised Truman didn’t see them. For example, when Truman was walking down the sidewalk to his neighbors house, a camera was on the trash bin, he could have saw that camera easily, but he didn’t. In the moon Christof lives in, there are only about thirty cameras. In Truman’s world, there are more than five thousand. In Truman’s world, you would find cameras in his mirror, in his pencil sharpener, ec. In Christof’s world, you would find them just pointed at him, or pointed at someone else talking.
