I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. It was a milestone for me when I got accepted to study Bachelor of Science in nursing at Truman State University (TSU), Kirksville, Missouri as an international student. I learnt from my very early age about the effective time management, good listening skills and ability to recognize cultural diversity. During my senior year of nursing school, I had to take rural health class. When I started my rural health clinical rotation with home health nurse, I realized that there is a huge need of preventative medicine and primary care provider in the rural area. To know more about the prevention of diseases, health education and promotion of healthy lifestyle, I studied Masters in Public Health (MPH) program at Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS) and Louisiana State University Health Shreveport (LSUHSCS).
