For many people is hard to find someone you can love, trust and have success at the same time. Othello was able to find success and love in Desdemona. But sometimes there's always some way that wishes that they could be you; jealous enough to be willingly do anything, from pulling everyone around you down mentally; may be even as far as killing someone, fortunately people like that never make it to the top. Is Shakespeare's Othello many believe the play is about trust and deception, in my opinion jealousy is the biggest role in this play. Iago is jealous of all colors so says in love with Desdemona. This was the beginning of Iago's anger and frustration and begins to plot against Othello. Iago was able to convince Roderigo how much he hated Othello by calling him names like "Moor", Iago also say's " I follow him to serve my turn upon him./ We cannot all be masters/ nor all masters cannot be truly followed (1. 2. 45. 9), these simple words indicate how Iago truly feels about Othello. So Iago tells Roderigo that he would help him to win the heart of Desdemona. Iago tricks Roderigo, which is apart of his plan to get Roderigo on board to help him. And Roderigo foolishness is what allows Iago to get embarrassed of him. After hearing Roderigo's plead for help he say's that " I hate the Moor and it is thought abroad that ' twixt my sheets has done my office./ I know if't be true,/ But I, for mere suspicion in that kind will do as if surety he holds me well". (1.3.424.55) Meaning that Iago knows that he's able to use Roderigo unwillingly and get him to do his dirty work for him. Iago States to himself. Castle is a good man but he still wants to deceive him so that he may become lieutenant. Iago convinces Roderigo that Desdemona is in love with Cassio and that Roderigo should help him Cassio removed from his job as lieutenant and the two come up with a plan to get Cassio drunk and make him fight so that Othello will remove Cassio as lieutenant. Being that Roderigo is blinded by his love for Desdemona and the lies of Iago, Roderigo willingly helps, not realizing that Iago only wants to help himself and he'll do anything to do so, even if he has to manipulate the minds of innocent people around him. Iago tries to act as if he's everyone good friend and ask Cassio to have drinks with him and friends; although he knows that Cassio likes to drink and can become unruly with those around him, Iago
