Tuck Everlasting Compare and Contrast Tuck Everlasting is about a family that would always be alive and a girl that just wants to be free. The wheel of life is what they desire, but cannot die. The similarities are even in the beginning. Winnie is living with her grandma and mother in both. She meets Jesse at the tree and watches him drink from the spring. Treegap seems alike in both the movie and book. Mae is nice in both. In both Angus talks to Winnie about how life is like a wheel and his family is stuck in one spot and he wishes his family could get back of the wheel. Also, the fact that in the book when Winnie was going to sleep she was visited by Mae who asked her if she was comfortable and Winnie said yes even though she wasn’t and then Angus said that he would let Winnie sleep in the bed if it was any more comfortable and says he would stay with Winnie until she falls asleep if she wants but she says no and Angus goes back to bed and then Jesse visits Winnie and says when she was 17 she could drink the water from the spring and they could get married but in the movie Winnie just goes to sleep and none of it ever happens. The Man in the Yellow Suit never shot Jesse to see if he really was immortal in the book. In the book the Man in the Yellow Suit didn’t die right after Mae hit him in the back of the head with a shotgun he was just really sick for some time and eventually died but in the movie the Man in the Yellow Suit died right after Mae hit him. When they broke Mae out of jail in the book they swapped Winnie with Mae and Winnie tried to trick the constable by trying to seem as big as possible.
