As Morrie says, “As long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still there. Morrie means that all the love that one ever holds for another is always going to be there no matter what, and even after death, people are still able to feel and understand the love that was once shared, thus keeping the love alive. Morrie stresses this quote and theme throughout the story. He feels that an abundance of love and compassion is the highest sense of fulfillment that one can experience. The expression of love and compassion is very important to Morrie, especially since he missed such expression in his own childhood. With the early death of his mother, and his busy father, Morrie did not feel a sense of love until Eva, the woman his father marries after the death of his mother, came into their home.
