Title Forgiveness is an extremely important thing. In Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom a character by the name of Morrie Schwartz is visited by his old student Mitch Albom because Morrie has ALS and is dying. Mitch and Morrie decide to spend Tuesdays with each other. Morrie once says “Forgive ourselves for all the things we didn’t do and all the things we should have done.” It’s about time we all understand this.
When people do not do something and then something bad happens they begin to blame themselves for what happened. The reason most people feel this way is because they feel like if they would have said something sooner or take action when they noticed something was wrong it could have helped the situation. He had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks now with a sickness that paralyzed him from the neck down. The man had been fighting hard with this disease, but the more he stayed fighting it, the more problems came. He began to do better, but then things took a turn for the worst. When he, Derick, passed my dad and my brother were both heartbroken. To my brother it was like losing his second dad. To my dad, it was like losing a brother.
Derick death was sudden and unexpected and through the whole thing I never realized how much it was affecting my dad. I was not there for dad through this because I did not hink it would have ended this way, but now I see how much my dad and brother are hurting. I can not help but think that I could have been there for my dad while Derick was in the hospital and it would have made things a little easier on him. Now that I see my dad and brother struggle I wish I would have been there because nothing is more heartbreaking than seeing your 12 year old brother and your dad
