My first theme is how Tupac made it big and became a successful artist. How he did that was in 1988 just two years after he moved to Baltimore, Maryland. Tupac and his family moved to Marin City, California just a short drive north of San Francisco. When he attended Tamalpais High School Shakur was heavily involved in the school's drama department. Later the next year in 1989 Shakur began going to Poetry classes taught by Leila Steinberg. Thanks to Steinberg, Shakur basically got his big break that same year when she organized a concert with Shakur’s group “Strictly Dope.” This led to him being signed to Altron Gregory. Now, this album didn't make any “Top Ten” hits. In the film “Nothing but Trouble” Shakur made his first film appearance as a cameo by the Digital Underground. In 1992 he did his first starring role as Roland Bishop in the film Juice. Later in February 1993 just two years after he released 2pacalypse Now his second studio album Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z was released. This album did way better than the previous album it placed #24 on the Billboard 200. Later in 1993 he starred in Poetic Justice alongside Janet Jackson. In 1994 Shakur starred in the film Above the Rim. On November 1994 the famous Quad Studios Shooting happened where three armed men robbed and shot Shakur five times. Shakur became inactive for about two years after his last album hit Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z then in March of 1995 Shakur released Me Against the World. This album won best rap album 1996 Soul Train Music Awards and this album released three singles “Dear Mama”, “So Many Tears”, and “Temptations”. At the end of 1994 Shakur was sentenced to 1 ½ to 4 ½ years at the Clinton Correctional Facility for alleged sexual assault in
