Imagine a murder case where there were so many leads, so much evidence, and plenty of witnesses. How could a case like this go cold in a couple of months? This is exactly what occurred with Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, two of history's biggest rap stars to ever exist. However, the answer is clearer than some may think. The culprit? Marion Hugh "Suge" Knight Jr, the CEO of Death Rows Records, Tupac’s record company.
Tupac Shakur had a long history with Death Row Records and it’s CEO, Suge Knight. Tupac was their rising star, quickly gaining attention from the rap industry. However, not everything was as it seemed backstage. Tupac was starting to gain traction as an actor, appearing in movies like Poetic Justice and Nothing But Trouble. Word had started to spread that Tupac was wanting to leave the record company and move on to something bigger. This could’ve been the fatal move that set Suge Knight after Tupac. In fact, some believe that the LAPD worked with Suge Knight to set up Tupac’s death. Supposedly, some police officers had ties to the Death Row Records company.
