Throughout society, the world has witnessed many countries flourish and many countries crumble under multiple variations of circumstances. Afghanistan is a prime example of a country that has experienced times of good fortune but also times of high-risk conditions. In the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, we are presented with a country named Afghanistan whose people are in a ceaseless turmoil. With The Kite Runner introducing us to Afghanistan, we are exposed to the Afghan culture, and its people who constantly live under turmoil. The countries turmoil is demonstrated through the constant fear implicated within the innocent minds of the countries citizens, the rise of different political powers through turmoil, and the through Afghanistan and the impoverish living conditions caused by war. These destructive actions are at the pinnacle of Afghanistan’s turmoil and show the world what they are capable of doing.

Fear is virtually the single most preeminent factor a person experiences during times of devastation/turmoil. Fear is shown to be existing in the innocent minds of the citizens of Afghanistan. During the time after the fall of the anarchy in Afghanistan, the Soviet Union communist invaded the country and enforced strict rules and punishments to try and control the public. Khaled Hosseini presents us with a country named Afghanistan. Within the book The Kite Runner, we are exposed to Afghanistan and its people who live under constant turmoil. This is demonstrated through fear, different political powers and poverty throughout the region. Over time we see the struggle that the people endure. Under these circumstances it is evident that the novel presents the story of a country and people in turmoil. At the end, it is up to the people of Afghanistan to stay resilient and power through the chaos because there is a way for the country to be good
