DEMORGRAPHIC DATA Referral History The patient is a Malay girl, Client A. who is 7 years and 5 months old at the time this case study was made. The patient was born on 4th June 2007. The patient was diagnosed as Turner Syndrome (learning difficulty). The initial diagnosis was made by a Medical Officer who then referred the case to the attention of the Occupational Therapists for further assessments and intervention since 4th June 2014. Birth History The patient was normally delivered at Hospital Kulim. After birth, the patient has a history of mild neonatal jaundice that was treated and resolved. Parents claimed other than that the patient is rarely ill after birth and has no other medical illness. Medical History The patient have no medical …show more content…

There are no scientific research that know the causes of the Turner Syndrome but that will proved by the result of a problem with a girls chromosome. The clinical features that we can see for a girl with Turner Syndrome are usually short in height, the average of their height are about 4 feet’s 7 inches ( 1.4 meters). When Turner Syndrome is diagnosed while a girls is growing, she can be treated with growth hormones to help her grow taller. Usually a girl is born with two X chromosomes but the girl with Turner Syndrome are born with just one X chromosomes or they are missing part of one chromosomes. It will depends on the amount of body’s cells that affected by the changes to the X chromosomes because the effects very widely among girls with Turner Syndromes. Moreover, the girls with Turner Syndrome have problem in sexual development and the ability to have children because it prevent the proper development of ovaries. The ovaries are responsible for making the hormones that control the breast growth and menstruation. if they are not have treatment of their condition, they will not go through all of the changes associated with puberty.
