The only lines we decided to cut were lines 200-203 “Maria Will you hoist sail, sir? Here lies your way.Viola No, good swabber, I am to hull here a little longer-Some mollification for your giant, sweet lady.” Act1.sc5 p37 and line 218 onto 219 “Give us this place alone. We will hear this divinity[Maria and attendants exit.]”(Act 1.sc.5 p39. The reason we chose these lines to cut is because they involved Maria. We also spoke about the word blazon because i found it hard to say but I just practiced saying it because if i said coat of arms instead how the text defines it rather than saying”five fold blazon” it feels like too many words in the phrase. For the character i played Olivia, I wore all black to demonstrate that she was still in mourning of her dead brother. Seeing as I didn’t have a black dress I wore a skirt to still show her femininity and a black shirt. The stage directions on page 39 clearly state that [she removes her veil] therefore I used a mostly black scarf that was thin enough to see through as a veil. My partner suggested i wear a lot of accessories such as beads, necklaces and gold earrings to demonstrate Olivia's wealth. Seeing as i had so much and had to hold my book I used some of the beaded necklaces for the line “spend this for me”(line 288 p43). It also makes sense because she was just stepping out of her house for just a moment and people of nobility could just have their servants run errands for whatever they may need. The only makeup I wore was red lipstick because when speaking of her beauty being inventoried she states “two lips indifferent red”.
