The story of Twelfth Night has a main focus of love, the play itself is a romantic comedy. Shakespeare examines different types of love: true love, friendship, and the idea of love. Shakespeare carefully illustrates the emotion of love with a lot of detail, and you will notice that most of the characters are only in love with the idea of love. Twelfth Night consist of many different types of love and many different people loving everyone and anyone , however most of the characters do not care to believe that their feelings toward the other characters are fake. They are being easily fooled by themselves and others around them. Although she is acting like the opposite gender and is unknown to the people who live there, she hopes to win Orsino’s heart. Viola was in more then one love scenario, except this time she did not share the feelings, because of that things did not come as planned. While Cesario was trying to tell Olivia how Orsino felt about her, Olivia only grew to love Cesario. Viola was now caught in a terrible situation and because she was speaking about how she actually felt towards Orsino, Olivia believed it was for her and she thought she was in love. Another case of true love is more family oriented. Which is Viola and Sebastian’s love for one another since they are siblings.
