Making money on the internet may seem difficult but it has become easier thanks to Twitch and YouTube. Twitch is a website where you can stream live feed of yourself and YouTube is one that you can post videos that are not restricted anything in particular, with few exceptions, from playing videogames to daily blogs about everyday life. They both have similarities and differences in how they do things and their restrictions of what can be done on their services. In reality, Twitch and YouTube have their differences and similarities in how people make money and the rules on what can be shown on their services. Most money that Youtubers (people that post videos on YouTube) are made from the advertisements and the views on each video posted. There are two types of advertisements and they are Cost Per Click (CPC) and Cost Per View (CPV), and obvious by their names, are slightly different but just as effective. CPCs are advertisements on keywords in sentences where for each click on each of those words, the owner has to pay $3; but there is a law where you cannot suggest or force others to click on these. CPVs are the advertisements on the videos where the advertiser has to pay for each person that watches either 30 seconds or half of the advertisement, whatever one comes first. There is a law in effect currently that forbids the suggestion/ This can build up if the Youtuber has many viewers but the actual amount of views also take part of the money generator. The views contributes a smaller amount of money because for every 1,000 views each of your views, the owner earns about $5. As of 2013, Felix Kjellberg, also known as Pewdiepie on YouTube, was reported to be making over $4 million because he is one of the biggest celebrities there (Moss, 1). On YouTube, you can post videos about anything, from cooking to tutorials on how to do almost anything.
