Jennifer Rodriguez Different types of Bullies and Victims. The method of bullying used between girls and boys are quite different. Dunham (2012) states that there are two different types of bullying behavior, indirect and direct bullying. For example, it is states that boys were involved in more direct bullying compared to girls. The direct bullying behavior include psychical bulling that tends to involve actions such as, kicking, hitting, or destroying others property. In addition, Dunham (2012) states that girl tend to focus on indirect bullying behavior that include relational and verbal bullying behavior. Sexual harassment involves actions such as, humiliating, embarrassing or demeaning another person. According to Griend & Messias (2014), twenty- five percent of the women had reported that they had encountered a sexual harassment experience within the last 12 months. It was reported that domestic workers who were sixty-one percent of the participants were more vulnerable to being sexually harassed. Domestic workers tend to be women who take care of children, who work as a housekeeper, and who work in elderly care facilities. Many women who were sexually harassed experienced action of receiving sexual compliments, hearing sexual comments, or being touched in unwanted ways. According to Betts, Gkimitzoudis, Spenser, & Baguley (2017), cyber bullying is defined as bullying through the use of an electronical device, such as a text message or phone call. The researchers focused their study on five different types of cyberbullying; unpleasant images, nasty communication, threatening communication, violent images, and insulting communication. The most frequent type of cyberbullying that was reported was insulting and nasty communication. The least frequent type of cyber bullying that were reported are threatening communication, violent and unpleasant images. The study demonstrated that the participants were more likely to participate in direct verbal cyber bullying than direct nonverbal cyber bullying. Like the other types of bullying, cyber bullying can be very dangerous because it can reach individuals even at the safety of their home. Individuals who are victims of cyber bullying are exposed to having threatening emails, intimidating, and insulting messages.
