Denial- In spite of the fact that he doesn't let us know he was trying to claim ignorance, he does flashback about how he got furious and annihilated things in his carport. He doesn't educate us regarding haggling however I considered the persistent feel of discouragement, which is a phase of misery. “I was only thirteen, and they were going to have me psychoanalyzed and all because I broke all the windows in the garage. I don't blame them, I really don't”(50). This shows how bad the situation was. If he could not blame them for when they wanted to have him psychoanalyzed after his actions to follow. Thoughts of suicide- His suicidal statements can be linked to depression, clearly and he assumes life is out of line which joins us back to the way that Holden is as yet lamenting over his sibling. An Example are when he has death wishes on page 104 when he stated “What I really felt like, though, was committing suicide. I felt like jumping out the window. I probably would have done it, too.”(136)..
