The Historic BDES Hall, at the old town of Benicia, is the perfect setting for the revival of August Wilson’s theatre playwright “Two Trains Running”. Based on the 1960’s era, Two Trains Running was during the hype of Civil Rights Movement, Black Power Movement, and the most significant event that happened on this era was the assassination of Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. Two Trains Running is focused on the everyday life of Black people, justice and love. I was so excited to watch this play because it is my first time to see a play live. As the stage unfold before my eyes, I remembered the sitcoms I used to see on television with settings in barber shops or parlors. . Two Trains Running is absolutely a refined play, and the audience loved its humor and naturalism. This play was revived and directed by a young, humble and multi-talented director, Terence Ivory, and produced by Benicia Old Town Theatre Group. The play evolved on seven people who always convened at the local diner: Lee’s restaurant, owned by Memphis (Clinton Vidal). The old jukebox and the pictures hanging on the walls made me believed that it is the hard work and ingenuity of everyone, starting from the actors, production, director and the people behind, made the play a success.
