334 Words2 Pages

My topic of discussion throughout this essay, is that two weeks paternity leave should be a right for all male workers.
I 'll be dicussing my views and opinions as to why i agree with the above statement. Throughout this essay i will be briefley covering the personal affects of a male being able to have two weeks paternity leave in comparison to not having the weeks leave and equality of a male worker being treated the same as a female.

In my oppinion, i believe the males should be able to have two weeks paternity leave. As a new father or not i think it is important for the male in the childs and mothers life to be involved from the get go, for the mothers support and for a the child. To create a bond with the child is important from the day he or she enters the world. Parenting in most cases is a two person thing so why should it just be thought of that the mother will provide the care and that the father/male doesnt need to have time off work to be the other parent that is required in such a life changing moment. …show more content…

What if it was a couple of the same sex, two men, that had just had a donor give the birth of their now child. It shouldnt be questioned, the males would need the same paternity leave. Both of the males would need time of to take care of their child/children.

All in all i believe in this day and age most work places are reasonable, i think men should be allowed to have paternity leave wether its to help their partners, themselves or simply beccause its what is needed when becoming a new parent or a parent again,
