In Act Three of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo did the right thing by killing Tybalt. Romeo was simply defending himself from being hurt. Tybalt had also been the one who started the whole fight. Therefore this justifies Romeo’s actions in the killing of Tybalt. In act three, Tybalt challenges Romeo. Romeo simply brushed it off, seeing as they were now considered in-laws. However, Tybalt didn’t know of Romeo and Juliet’s marriage. Mercutio gets angry at Tybalt for degrading Romeo. He’s also mad at Romeo for rejecting the opportunity to fight and ends up taking his place. Mercutio is wounded and later dies. Romeo being upset then fight Tybalt and ends up killing him. Instead of the fight ending up the way it did, Tybalt could have just took the
