In 1982, seven people died in Illinois. All of them were took Extra-Strength Tylenol before they died. The police got some evidence that show someone poison in Tylenol. The murderer may put lots of poisonous Tylenol in Chicago’s pharmacy. Government published that incident and warning people to avoid using any Tylenol. The whole country gets into a panic.
In 1982, a12-year-old girl got sick and her mother used Tylenol to cure their daughter. In the morning, the little girl died. In the same day, in Arlingtion Hight, a man used Tylrnol to appease chest pain and he died an hour later. He’s brother and brother’s wife took the same bottle of Tylenol also died in next two days. Another two women died in that period, they also took Tylenol before. Chicago police investigate those cases, found Cyanide in those Tylenol but thought were produced and transported from different cities. The police thought that the Tylenol is poison by someone. There were still lots of poisonous Tylenol in the Chicago pharmacy. Chicago police warned all the people to avoid Tylenol. The company stoped all the advertisement about Tylenol and warned all the people; do not take any Tylenol product until the crisis was resolved. Then the company recalled all the Tylenol product from pharmacy and exchange all the Tylenol from costumers house. stop all the advertisement about Tylenol. They apologized to the public about their unsafe packaging via video and newspaper. In addition, they cooperated with FDA, FBI and Chicago police to catch the criminal they apologized to the public via video and newspaper. After police catch the criminal and all the Tylenol has been recall, the company developed a new triple-seal tamper-resistant packaging. They show the safety of the new packaging via media.
