Diabetes The main purpose of my paper is to discuss diabetes. Diabetes is a disease where your body can not produce enough insulin to process the glucose in the blood. This disease to me is very important to learn more about, because my grandpa was diagnosed with this a couple years ago. According to the 2017 National Diabetes Statistics Report, 30.3 million people are affected. Together 23.1 million are diagnosed and 7.2 million are undiagnosed. While I was reading that information, I thought man that’s crazy, that 7.2 million people are undiagnosed, but the crazier part is learning that 84.1 million people have prediabetes.
