I always wanted to go to UCONN since I was younger. UCONN has always been an important part of the community growing up in Mansfield Connecticut. It was the university that everyone talked about it town. No matter what was talked about, UCONN was always highly regarded within the community and most importantly within my family. My sister is about to be a soon graduate of UCONN, planning on graduating this upcoming spring. My parents were so proud she went to UCONN, and I was too.
When it came to actually decide where I want to go, UCONN intimidated me with its large size campus and classrooms. So I decided to go to a smaller university, Eastern Connecticut State University. I was happy with the clubs that I joined, I was doing well in my classes, and I had an amazing group of friends. Even though everything seemed like it was going very well and I was happy, I still was hesitant about the major I had chosen at Eastern, Early Childhood Education. I was still planning on being a teacher, I was not going to be teacher the group of children I was passionate about teaching.
Unhappy with my major, I decided to apply to UCONN for the 2017 Fall Semester. I was overjoyed with my acceptance letter and felt accomplished that I could start my new college experience at one of the best schools in the country. Even though I was excited about this new journey, I had another opportunity that I could not pass at the time.
Instead of transferring to UCONN during this past Fall Semester, I had an amazing experience working for the Walt Disney World Company, where I worked in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for eight months. I was able to create magic for children of all abilities and transform them into princesses or knights by styling their hair, makeup and nails. It was truly one of the most difficult and rewarding experiences I have ever
