UCAS PERSONAL STATEMENT
Helping my younger siblings with their school homework sparked my interest in primary education. This revelation has led me to realise that I relish interacting with young children, and helping them further in their education. Since all my siblings are of different ages I have been able to determine which age group I’d prefer to teach and have realise the countless needs and difficulties that each age group presents. Working with different age groups has broadened my knowledge on the different communication skills needed to engage with them. Studying education in sociology has helped me to identify how important education is at a young age, in order to create a platform for their future learning. Through studying English literature, I have been able to develop my skills of using grammar, tenses and comprehension. This will be useful to me as a teacher as I would need to correct and identify errors in students work and help them understand things they cannot grasp. Having done an art GCSE I believe that I am creative and this is a crucial compartment of being a teacher.
