United States Army exists to fight and win our Nation’s wars, and serves the American people. Ever since being established in 1775 on 14 June, the United States Army has proven the ability to hold an enemy force and/or defeat them when all options have failed. Subsequently in 2011 the United States Army has sustained conflicts and has been undertaking a transition ever since. Retired General Martin E. Dempsey set forth a vision back in 2011, challenging United States Army to become an Army Force of 2020. Calling for brigade combat teams (BCT) reorganization, in training and equipment. Reshaping United States Army force structure to prevent conflicts in other parts of the world protecting the Nations potential interests. As the United States Army adapts existing capabilities there for establishing a starting point to achieve Army Force of 2020, they are now looking beyond to Evolve phase (2020-2030) and Innovate phase (2030-2040). In the Evolve phase, the United States Army must upgrade equipment focused on increasing quality, improving the balance of mobility, protection and lethality of weapons for combat vehicles and units. This has been accomplished by supporting local law enforcement security much like the United States Army has done in Iraq with the Iraq Police and Iraq Army. Like civil affairs units are currently doing, the United States Army helps provide support through economic and physical means. An example of winning the hearts and minds and what it means to the United States Army is improving the infrastructure for local nationals, building of schools, improving roads and water ways. Bottom line up front is do what we can to help make the local population endure their hardship a little easier. These actions can help a local nationals decide whether they support United States by showing that we truly do care about their
