Ubbe Eert Iwerks born 1901 in Kansas City, Missouri. Ub Iwerks worked as a marketable cartoonist in 1919 when he encountered the famous Walt Disney who had the same profession. As soon as Disney decided to form an animation company he chose Iwerks to be his business partner, because Ub Iwerks had an amazing skill at fast drawing and had a close relationship with Walt Disney he was first to be employed. He is well known for his work at Disney, he was formally Disney’s head animator a well know cartoon series. He created the famous character named “Mickey Mouse”. Disney's formed a company called Laugh-O-gram Films persuaded Iwerks to join the group. Laugh- O-gram Films failed and money didn't come in, so Iwerks left Laugh-O-gram Films. Iwerks still helped Disney out on projects, then came a time Disney was forced to file bankrupt, Iwerks was left unpleased with very petite compensation for his work at Disney. …show more content…

Launching his own animation studio in 1930, stated by (www.britannica.com/biography/Ub-Iwerks) “he supervised dozens of entries in the Flip the Frog, Willie Whopper, and ComiColor Cartoons series.” During this period he made several significant contributions to the art of animation photography, notably the multiplane camera, which created a three-dimensional effect on screen During this period the first cartoon that Ub Iwerks made for the series was called Fiddlesticks (released on August 16, 1930) In the cartoon Flip the Frog is a performer at a local outdoor nightclub, in order to get there he jumps across pond to get in the forest. Flip the frog was also the first color sound cartoon ever
