'Unbroken': A Character Analysis

“ … but I need it!” “Need” is such a common word used by the population living in the United States. Need is exhausted — used hundreds of times daily by people like you and I. “I need that shirt, that ice cream, that car…,” recently, this summer, I realized that want is not parallel to need. I peaked through an unfamiliar paradigm where basic vocabulary cannot relate the intangible emotions of the characters that we dissected. Louis Zamperini, and the fictional Joad family introduced fear, hope, strength, and humanity expand into terror, hopelessness, courage, and animosity. The pioneer causing my shift in perspective was Unbroken. Heart wrenching situations demonstrating what it is to be tired, to be terrified, and to be courageous. Louis
