Uncle Tom’s Cabin was, and still is today, an important well-known novel.The nineteenth-century novel contains the lives, experiences, and views of the characters. It tells the harsh and cruel living conditions of slaves. The novel tells the brutality of slaves and changed the way many people viewed slavery.The author, Harriet Beecher Stowe, inspired the many people. Harriet Beecher Stowe changed the world throughout her life and her writing of Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
Harriet Beecher Stowe was born on June 14, 1811, in Litchfield, Connecticut. Harriet had a big family, consisting of her mother, Roxana Foote Beecher, her father, Lyman Beecher, and 10 siblings. Her mother died of tuberculosis when Harriet was very young. Her father was a very religious man and raised his children to be religious. Lyman did not have much time to spend with all of his children because he was a single parent who had to provide for his many children.
