The most important and pressing idea in Uncle Tom’s Cabin focuses on the moral implications of slavery and its evils. Stowe took a more unconventional approach while writing about slavery. The book revolves around the importance of family. Being a powerful influence in her own family, Stowe had a different view of what family life was like compared to the rest of society.
