Under Armour was founded in 1996 with the mission to make all athletes better through passion, design and the relentless pursuit of innovation. Under Armour produces several different products under its name. Under Armour products are sold all around the world. Their products can be found in the United States, China and Brazil. Revenue is generated by sales in specialty retailers around the world or sales directly in Under Armour stores. In 2016, 21% of their net revenue was from footwear sales and the remainder of their revenue was from apparel and accessories.
Soccer is played around the world in almost every country. Under Armour has been able to secure exclusive contracts with soccer teams around the world. It wasn’t until 2006 that Under Armour begun to make footwear. They are the official soccer footwear supplier for Brazil, Netherlands, Chile to name a few. Soccer is not the only sport where Under Armour has been able be the official supplier of footwear they are also in American football, basketball and golf.
