I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
My childhood was not most would consider to be easy. Both my mother and father had addiction issues that forced my younger brother and I to care for ourselves. By the time I reached the fifth grade, I had attended five different elementary schools. On the days that I did actually go to school, I was not on time. A few years later, I moved in with my grandparents, and my entire life improved.
Single Parent to Graduate Student Enrolling in Northcentral University, NCU to obtain my graduate degree in education is one of accomplishment and a new beginning to a new career. I have always had a passion for indifference, injustice, and making a difference. I have an associate’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in Human and Family Services. I went from having a degree in computer science to a human service degree because of a family tragedy that made me evaluate my purpose in life as an individual. I am currently a case manager with a mental health/mental retardation organization and a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.
I am not like other sixteen year olds. I find a better use of my time making the world a better place than partying or loafing around. While my peers engage in such activities I work towards broadening my awareness of the world around me. It’s the small things, namely learning about foreign cultures or giving back to my community that make me different. At sixteen years old, I am graduating from Inlet Grove Community High School and have been accepted to Florida Atlantic University.
Eagerness to learn, attention to details, and willingness to put in required effort and time, all qualities I wish to continue to practice as a student in AP English 12. As a student of organization and willingness to participate in classroom discussions and interactions, I believe those attributes of me as a student set me up for success in this class. My enthusiasm in learning has been a leading factor in my decision to apply for this rigorous course my senior year. While there are other options available this is the course best suited for me due to my attention to details and readiness to dedicate time and effort into this class. As an AP English student I am mainly interested in continuing to practice and develop reading and writing skills
As I approach the end of my memorable high school career, I feel I have a clear idea of what I intend to achieve at the University of Illinois. My desire is to major in the study of Physics. Along the way, I wish to contribute to research and to participate in the many clubs the university offers. Subsequent to my education at the university, my plans reside between teaching an upper-level education and to conduct research regarding astrophysical phenomena. I was first properly introduced to physics during my junior year of high school when I enrolled in my school’s only physics curriculum.
Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I am eager to build beneficial connections with like-minded students who take their education seriously. Furthermore, I look forward to interacting with professors who will challenge me to grow to my full potential. I believe that this stimulating and rigorous academic environment will push me to excel academically and personally.
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Sophomore of the Year Award for the University of New England. Through my experience as a second year student at the University of New England, I have always been determined to be a leader to and a supporter of my peers. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes: Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled.
When I became a Freshman in highschool, I had my whole life planned out. I knew that I wanted to grow up to be a famous singer. I was going to go to Belmont University and graduate with my Bachelor’s degree. I wanted to be in the spotlight. I wanted people to know my name and to sing my songs.
Personal Statement For Seniors I am the type of person that has always thought outside the box. I 've never been afraid to succeed in what possibly my friends and family have never delt or ventured into. Coming from never being in charge of anything important really I soon began to take role of captain but not in anything militaristic but captain for a few different community soccer teams throughout my life. I believe in all that I have always been a guy that takes charge in things I truly care about and succeed in them.

There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved.
For me it would be a great satisfaction to win this scholarship since I want to study medicine and to become an excellent Doctor to be able to help the human being and to be able to diagnose and identify diseases where I am going to cure these diseases with the knowledge that I am going to acquire with the studies and be able to save lives and make many families happy. I start with my personal life my grandmother suffers from Alzheimer in which every day I help her get up, give her food, watch her, and worry about her condition. At my school I have been dedicated to helping Hispanics achieve their academic goals. During my undergraduate education, I hope to prepare for both a meaningful life and a career. Challenging myself academically and socially, I want to become a well-rounded, successful woman who still helps her community. I would love to continue partaking in community service in addition to studying in a rigorous academic environment; therefore, the PULSE program is at the top of my activities list for Boston College because I want to use my skills to help others who lack adequate tools to improve their lives. Helping others become successful serves as a meaningful measure of my own success. Nonetheless, I anticipate internships throughout my college experience that will hopefully enable networking for a job after graduation.
I can vividly remember the advice given to me by my high school counselor. I was broken down, whispering to myself that I was not college bound. It was my counselor who made me realize that persistence was a key factor to continuing my education. The wisdom that was shared to me that day was instilled into my mind and was endorsed in my heart. I want to be the person that gives a glimpse of hope to students that need an extra push through education, just like it was given to me.
