Firstly, for my pre-production to create my magazine, I first researched similar genre of magazine to understand the generic codes and conventions used within the genre. Magazines have gradually become a part of a person’s daily life; whether it’s to learn about fashion statements, sports or the latest celebrity gossip, magazines have it all. They have a variety of techniques to compel the reader to buy and read it. I have viewed, well- known fashion magazines, which have assisted me in constructing my magazine, ‘Teen Stylist’ and produced several ways to appeal to my target audience who are a younger female market. Famous magazines such as Cosmo Girl and Teen Vogue have used cover lines, personalisation, direct mode of address, discourse; subject specific lexis, house style, colloquialism to fascinate the reader.
