Undeveloped For Death Row Sentencing Juveniles to death row is absolutely uncivilized and morally wrong. According to The American Medical Association, the nation’s psychiatrists and psychologist and other health research groups are quoted in the article “Too Immature For the Death Penalty” written by Paul Raeburn, saying juveniles should not be held fully responsible for their actions because their brains are still developing. Majority of the juveniles awaiting for the death row all have a history of being physically and mentally abused and no guidance . Executing a juvenile not only takes a lengthy period of time but also requires a lot of money. As the brain changes , so does the person. The brain develops into maturity at the age of 25. Until and adolescents reaches the age of 25 , they will do things and not be able to fully explain why they did it , see things differently and interpret social cues wrongly sometimes. They can't comprehend the severity and the consequences of their actions. Juveniles that have been abused are more prone to behaving aggressively, get into trouble and commit crimes.
