The author of Complications," Atul Gawane, has written this specific chapter to persuade the reader of his thesis. If the choice you make is incorrect, then it could potentially be a matter of life and death. Atul Gawande gives multiple examples of patients that have made wrong and right decisions to prove his point. He uses the personal anecdotes of four different people, with four decisions to prove his point.

Nowadays, everyone knows that the English language is very important for many fields. Especially, in the medical, most of the medical knowledge often uses the English language. Thus, for the second year of the medical program in SWU, medical students need to learn the MDG 202 subject to practice speaking and presentation skills. In the course, it has been focused on developing two these skills, so my three friends and I practice together and develop presentation skills, which I will tell the reflection and feedback from selecting the topic after the presentation. First of all, I chose the closest topic to the lifestyle of medical students who had to read many books and more not enough to rest, so the source of the topic was "Snoring to Death".
What if one book could give you the answers to life-long happiness? Is it possible? Well, according to the book “Happiness Hypothesis” written by Jonathan Haidt, he believes he has found the steps in which happiness can be achieved by looking into virtue, morals, and the meaning of life. The book was written as a directional guide to make us self-examine our overall happiness. Haidt invents this hypothesis by exploring ancient beliefs and comparing that to modern-day philosophy.
The speaker must indicate that they are well versed in the subject matter they are speaking about and must do so with confidence. When sharing his story at the hospital, he talks about speaking with medical professionals about what was happening and conducting further research. He then follows with shocking statistics he discovered to emphasize that he has researched and is knowledgeable. Before he explains his suggested techniques, he shares how they have derived from exercises and lessons he has taught himself. Something that was highlighted over the course of this was the importance of communication and the skill of changing tone and level of speech depending on who you are speaking to; whether it is to patients, nurses or fellow doctors. The worst kinds of neurological diseases are those which can affect the functions of the human brain. A well-known example is autism, and it has become a widespread disease among children. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 of every 68 children in the U.S would have autism spectrum disorder; moreover, the study shows that 1 in 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls would have autism spectrum disorder (1).
As we work in the society, we are automatically associated with the well-being of the society and the people. I need to take responsibilities and have knowledge about what is going on with my patients and help them to be actively involved in their daily activities. I have to use the communication skills through reading and writing in my career which helps me to build trusting relationships with my patients. REFLECTION OF THE INTERVIEW 2.1 Description A component of the Effective Communication module, is an Inter-professional Education (IPE) enrichment activity and we were put into groups with the Pharmacy students. There were in total 2 Nursing students and 3 Pharmacy students. We were tasked to interview a healthcare professional. We interviewed Dr Edwin Lim from Tzu Chi Free Health Screening and Free Clinic (TCFC). He specialises in Family Medicine.
