An important aspect of marketing a Smartphone that allows video capabilities is creating the product, setting price, identifying the product, making customers aware, getting people to buy the product. Creating the product includes the design of the phone along with adding features and benefits to the phone. That includes the camera, screen and video capability. Of course, you would need a phone that has a camera. Which I think all smartphones are designed with. Also a wide enough screen that would allow for a full picture. Smartphones with video capabilities are sold by almost every mobile phone company. I think penetration approach, cost-based pricing, demand base pricing or prestige base pricing would work. The Third aspect of marketing I would use is target marketing. That’s who a company is aiming its product act. For a Smartphone, consumer marketing would best. That’s broken down into groups. For example, I wouldn’t market a Smartphone for a toddler (even though toy companies make smartphones for children). Another example, marital status wouldn’t matter in marketing a Smartphone. I would market Smartphone to Teenagers, College students, working people, business people, young and old. Chance are your 80-year-old grandparent don’t know how to use a smartphone. But none the less if they learned they could video chat with their family and friends from all around the world. The next thing is to make consumers aware of the product through advertising.
