As one of the world's extraordinary colleges, the University of Chicago has been forming advanced education—and the scholarly existences of students—for over a century. A private foundation contracted in 1890, Chicago's 203-section of land grounds on the shores of Lake Michigan has been home to 78 Nobel Laureates, the biggest number associated with any American college.
