At University of Penn, I am interested in applying to the Undergraduate school, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. In this school, I am interested in majoring in bioengineering, and would explore my many intellectual and academic interests through this major. First, I would explore my intellectual interests through the flexibility in choosing a bachelors, BAS or BSE. I could achieve my BAS, so that I would have more flexibility to focus on my pre-medical track while also achieving my studies in bioengineering. I would also use the research labs to explore my interests. With the ability to be involved with these labs, I can ruther my curiosities in my major, and I would also be able to put my ideas in motion by doing research or designing …show more content…
As a student at Penn Charter, I am invested in doing service, and giving back to my community. I would take part in the Science Outreach Programs with Philadelphia to explore these interests, and also help students who have the same interest as I do. Also, in school of engineering and applied sciences I could concentrate on my sub interest, Cellular/Tissue engineering and Biomaterials. University of Penn is a very diverse school, and it goes beyond the focuses of just race, gender and age. It gives consideration to those who have disabilities, different interests, one’s sexual orientation and socioeconomic background. Since I am interested in medicine, Penn offers an academic program where I can get the perspective of the diversity in the Health profession. I could further my academic interest by volunteering or speaking to a director at the clinical research center in women’s health. I would get a first hand view of the struggles that women bodies endure, and also what a life in medicine would look like. To peek my intellectual interests, I would also take part in the many different groups and organizations that the University of Penn
