The comments about the University of Wisconsin-Madison are always around my ears: the prestige of the school, the liveliness of the Madison city sceneries, the vibrant campus, and the beauty of the lake that is right outside of the classroom window. All of these ensure that the University of Wisconsin-Madison is the place that I want to live for the next four years, to learn from the best of professors, to associate with peers from different backgrounds, and to continue to play basketball or other sports. As mathematics and other science subjects have always been my strengths, the prestige of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in math and other science fields attracts my attention, which is why I am applying for the College of Letters & Science (L&S), and Applied Math will be my preferred major. However, this does not mean that I will ignore other subjects. I intend to explore different areas like statistics, physics, and business. There are numerous subjects that I can choose from, so I might want to do a minor or a double major. Just a brief surfing through the school website, I saw an endless list of activities like podcast projects, exhibitions at the Whitney Museum, lectures and seminars. Probably one day I can become a mathematician just like them. I know that I am still a high school student, and it will be a long way to go before I can tackle those remaining six of the Millennium Prize Problems, but I have my enthusiasm, my willingness to learn, and my diligence. Probably one day I will solve the confounding “P versus NP” problem.
