Unnecessary strip-searches managed by faculty is an inappropriate manner that leaves the students exposed and in a vulnerable state. Here recently, Gustine Elementary schools decided to conduct a strip-search in hopes of finding the student who kept smearing feces on the gym floor. They gathered the boys into one room and the girls in an other room; they where told to pull down their pants. The reason why strip-search are conducted in school is for the safety for the students and faculty when a major threat is posed. Majority of searches are done while student are in their classrooms and the Police Officers are brought in with K-9 Units to sniff out lockers. If questionable items are found then the school has reason to strip-search the students belonging to that locker; however, parents should be present unless the student is over the age of 18. With the parents present it would prevent the schools for doing unnecessary searches. Strip-searches should not be taken lightly because it leaves the student in a vulnerable state and exposing their body to authority figures. Strip-searches can get easily out of hand because there is a changes that the student is innocent and the faculty is reluctant to listen and after finding nothing after the strip-search the student is left feeling ashamed and having to face the searchers for the rest of the school
